Yakima Music Club honors high school seniors

Twelve seniors are being honored by the Yakima Music Club.
The club, established in 1898, recognizes Yakima Valley high school seniors each year by holding a senior showcase.

Washington Apple Education Foundation announces new scholarships

The Washington Apple Education Foundation is offering some new scholarships this year.
The new scholarships were started by Tieton’s CPC Apple Company and Olson’s Honey of Yakima. Stemlit Growers, Inc. also added another scholarship to those it already gives through the WAEF.
In all, the foundation will provide about $225,000 in student aid this year.

WAVE scholarship deadline is approaching

It’s time to apply for the Washington Award for Vocational Excellence, or WAVE, scholarship.
Career and technical education students can get applications from their school counselors.
The scholarship is awarded by the Workforce Training and Education Coordinating Board. The grants provide as much as $6,720 in tuition per year.
