It’s time to apply for the Washington Award for Vocational Excellence, or WAVE, scholarship.
Career and technical education students can get applications from their school counselors.
The scholarship is awarded by the Workforce Training and Education Coordinating Board. The grants provide as much as $6,720 in tuition per year.
Eligible students have finished a college and technical education course at either the high school or college level.
Applications must be turned in to school coordinators no later than Feb. 9. Up to 147 students have the chance of winning the award. Two high school winners and one community or technical college winner are selected from each of Washington’s 49 legislative districts.
The award pays up to two years of undergraduate tuition at an accredited public or private college or university or licensed private vocational school.
