Josue Bravo
Eisenhower, senior, 18.
Favorite activities: Playing video games, Ping Pong and piano, and spending time with friends.
Favorite food: Anything my mom cooks and good pasta salads.
Favorite music: I listen to all sorts of music — indie/alternative/metal/dance/electronic/progressive/ambient/rap/psychedelic and especially stuff with foreign and classical influences. It also depends on the mood I’m in. Muse has been my favorite band since ninth grade.
Favorite films: “Mean Girls” is hilarious, but I also enjoy zombie movies and Miyazaki animations because they spark my imagination.
Favorite books: I don’t read much, but I really like historical fiction and memoirs. The last book I read was “Communion.” It’s a story about a man’s strange experiences and how they actually turn out to be alien abductions, which he discovers undergoing hypnotherapy.
Three words to describe yourself: Artistic, outgoing, thoughtful.
Greatest achievement: Learning, memorizing, and performing “Jardins sous la Pluie” — a 10-page piano piece by Debussy — in three months.
If you could leave tonight on an all-expenses-paid trip, where would you go?: I would go to Japan or Italy because those two cultures interest me.
What would you do with $1 million?: First, I would invest some of it, then I would share it with my family and friends.
If you could meet anyone, who would you choose?: Matthew Bellamy, the lead singer from Muse, because he is one of my top inspirations for being a musician and I would like to understand the genius behind his work.
Who is your hero?: My friends and family are all my heroes.
Biggest fear: Being abducted by aliens.
Greatest wish: I think I would have psychokinetic powers, the ability to influence many things with your mind.
When and where were you the happiest?: When I’m with my friends.
Most treasured possession: My family and friends. You never know how long they’re going to be around.
Favorite place in your hometown: Well, I was born in Mexico City, but grew up in Seattle for 11 years of my life. So I would have to say the Seattle Aquarium at the pier because as a child I wanted to be a marine biologist.
What do you like most about your school?: Ping Pong Club.
How do you see yourself in 10 years?: Probably living in the city, working in fashion marketing or being a musician.
