Alexia Tully
Davis, freshman, 14.
Favorite activities: Singing, making origami things, really almost any artistic activity would do.
Favorite food: I really like gyros. They are Greek and similar to tacos. Yum.
Favorite music: I love all kinds of music. I don’t really have a favorite, but I enjoy learning about the many different genres.
Favorite films: “Lord of the Rings,” “Interview with a Vampire,” “Pirates of the Caribbean.”
Favorite books: I don’t mean to be the 14-year-old girl stereotype when it come to “Twilight,” but I thought the books were very interesting.
Three words to describe yourself: Intelligent, creative, compassionate.
Greatest achievement: Being accepted to go to the all-girls summer camp at Hollins University last summer and studying forensic chemistry and psychology for two weeks.
If you could leave tonight on an all-expenses-paid trip, where would you go? If my options were inside the country, I would say Chicago. But if you meant internationally, I would say Ireland.
What would you do with $1 million? Pay for the rest of my education. And if there was any money left after multiple years in college I would donate the rest.
If you could meet anyone, who would you choose? I would love to personally meet and ask questions of the Dalai Lama.
Who is your hero? Xena the Warrior Princess has been my hero since I was 6.
Biggest fear: Abandonment. The idea of being alone, like truly alone, not just someone being away at work for a day but truly gone.
Greatest wish: I am writing a novel as a hobby. My biggest wish is that when I finish it I could get it published. Maybe even have it be made into a movie.
When and where were you the happiest? I’d say I was happiest when I was younger, hanging out with my dad. My parents got divorced, and I never got to spend much time with him. When I did see him we would walk the Greenway and just hang out. That was great ‘cause now that I am older it doesn’t happen as much.
Most treasured possession: Does my cat count? He is my friend and my companion.
Favorite place in your hometown: North Town Coffee House. It is the closest thing to Seattle here in Yakima. And it has the best coffee. (I probably shouldn’t be saying that since I am typing my response in a Starbucks.)
What do you like most about your school? I like the diversity. I can socialize and learn from many types of people. It is a great opportunity to make friends.
How do you see yourself in 10 years? I see myself doing all kinds of things. I’m still in high school so when people ask “What do you want to be when you grow up?” it is not a question I can answer because right now the answer would be “A firefighter/cop/ interpreter/ linguist/actor/author” and so on. So I can’t tell you where I see myself in 10 years because I do not know which way I am going yet.
